Biomec is an extracellular matrix (MEC, for its acronym in Spanish) isolated from porcine small intestine. It is a resorbable and selectively permeable biomaterial that helps native tissue remodeling.

BiomecBiomecIt provides a scaffold for cells to migrate until soft tissue can be regenerated.

Biomec can be used as a unilamellar dressing in wounds (ulcers, lesions or up to second degree burns). It’s main function is to cover the wound to prevent it from infection and help in tissue regeneration.

Biomec Cx is a multilamellar membrane used in different surgery procedures. It can be utilized in general surgery, pediatric surgery and neurosurgery, as well as oral surgery.

It can be used as well in different oral procedures such as implantology, periodontal and maxillofacial procedures.

Biomec Cx membrane can be sutured or fixated, and utilized in pediatric patients as the reabsorbable biomaterial does not limitate pacients growth and development. It can be used as well in odontology/dentistry as a barrier to isolate osseous graft from soft tissues and/or to contain the graft.

We have sanitary conditions certification for the products fabrication. Sanitary registration for commercialization for Biomεc and Biomεc Cx in Colombia is INVIMA 2011DM-0007328.

Biomec, an isolated collagen matrix, characterized by being infection resistant, reabsorbable and a tissue remodeling.

It should not be implanted in infected or necrotic tissues. Biomec and Biomec Cx are porcine products and should not be used in patients with known sensitivity to porcine derived products.

Gamma radiation in a 25 kGy doses.
Sterilization method advantages:

• No traces.
• Highest efficiency method for these types of products.
• Deactivates microorganisms contributing to the products safety.
• A second sterilization is not recommended, humid heat denaturalizes collagen products. This product should not be resterilized or used more than one. We cannot guarantee endotoxins specifications once the product has been manipulated outside its package.

Biomec is not suture resisting, no hidration is recomended. Biomεc Cx can be cut, bend, sutured, or fixed even when hydrated.

Hydration with sterile water or saline solution is recommended if it will be sutured.

Aluminium foil sachet. It is puncture resisting, and creates a barrier to light, water and oxygen. This is a steriel product, with intended use for a single use only.

Every product has a shelf life of 2 years from the manufacture date. Both manufacture and expiration dates are printed in the package.

Products should be storage in a clean, dry environment at room temperature (5ºC to 30ºC). Direct or prolonged light exposure should be avoided. High temperatures may degrade some of the products materials and reduce the useful life of the product.
